|
Treasurer's Report Surrey Primary Care Trust continues to be our principal source of funding and this year increased our grant by 2.6% to £20,350. This represented 75.9% of our total income for the year. Donations received of £5,357 were more than double last years figure of £2,204. We are very grateful to our volunteers who donated their expenses, the individuals who made donations and the organisations that chose to support us, in particular the Fleet Morning Townswomen’s Guild who donated more than £2,000. As a result, our total income for the year increased by 16.8% to £26,811 and Hospice Home Support made a surplus of £5,788. The total expenditure this year was £21,023, which was marginally lower than last year’s figure of £21,517. In common with other charities HHS has found it difficult to attract new volunteers. As a result, the amount spent on training decreased again this year by £479 to £2,244. From October the mileage rate paid for expenses was increased in line with other charities and from January the hourly rate charged by the support staff also increased. These increases are the main reason that expenses paid to volunteers rose by 12.7% to £6,509, despite a decrease of nearly 10% to 745 in the number of visits made to patients, and the training and support costs rose by 8.5% to £4,024. The number of referrals seen by the volunteer organisers this year showed a small decrease from 87 to 83, while the expenses paid to them remained virtually the same. Overall, the average cost per visit rose from £26 to £28. The following statistics
show our continued service to the community.
I would like to thank Surrey Primary Care Trust for their continued support and those individuals who have made donations, including our volunteers.
