HOSPICE HOME SUPPORT VOLUNTEER TRAINING COURSE

Hospice Home Support

What does Hospice Home Support mean to patients
and their families?

Being seriously ill, or looking after someone who is seriously ill, causes great stress and anxiety.  It can be lonely and tiring too.

Hospice Home Support volunteers can help in all sorts of practical ways:

  • Shopping

  • Ironing

  • Taking the patient on outings

  • Helping with children

  • Accompanying patients on hospital visits

  • Allowing the carer a few hours off for a well-earned break

Frequently the greatest Hospice Home Support volunteers can give is to sit and listen.

Hospice Home Support is affiliated to the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
