About Hospice Home Support
Hospice Home Support (HHS) is a registered charity, providing volunteer support to
patients and their families in their own home. Hospice Home Support trains
volunteers to support and assist patients suffering from illnesses that no longer
respond to curative treatment. Recognising the great stress caused by serious
illness, both to the patient and to those in the caring role, Hospice Home Support
helps patients to stay in their own home, sometimes for much longer than would
otherwise be possible.
Patients are referred to Hospice Home Support by local GPs, District nurses, Macmillan
nurses, hospitals and by the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. The availability of this service is
greatly valued by these professionals. They believe the ability to refer patients to
Hospice Home Support adds another very important dimension to the care package
that they are able to offer people who want to be at home.
Hospice Home Support is affiliated to the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
